THE BRIEF
Create an intro for GOSSIPS, a YouTube show about celebrity news, pop culture and, naturally, gossip.
The starting point was the internet meme of gossiping rats.
THE CHALLENGE
How do you turn a familiar meme into something that feels original and belongs to the show?
The intro also needed to reflect the personalities of the hosts and the retro atmosphere of the set.
THE VISUAL LANGUAGE
I connected gossiping rats with newspapers and tabloids — gossip in its natural habitat.
Torn magazine pages, headlines and exaggerated imagery became the foundation of a playful, slightly absurd collage world. The warm colours and vintage details came from the show's set.
FROM MEME TO VISUAL WORLD
Rather than using the rats as a one-off joke, I made them recurring characters.
The torn newspaper fragments also became a metaphor for gossip itself: incomplete pieces of information, often taken out of context and turned into something else entirely.
