From Venice-inspired moving images to exhibition artworks — visual storytelling for jewellery brand Kostelle.
THE BRIEF
Create an animation and three print collages for the Gondola collection, followed by three large-scale artworks bringing different collections together for a trade show in Madrid.

FROM LETTER TO MOTION
The project began with a letter from the jeweller describing the Venice that inspired the collection. I translated those impressions into a moving collage, connecting the city’s architecture, reflections and gondola silhouettes with the forms of the jewellery.
“Everything seemed to float: the sounds, the light, the reflections on the water.”
From the jeweller’s letter

THE VISUAL LANGUAGE
Steven Zaillian’s neo-noir series Ripley was a key visual influence. Its stark black-and-white imagery, dramatic shadows and sense of unease shaped the atmosphere of the collages. Together with the distinctive silhouette of a gondola, these elements formed a surreal world where the jewellery became part of the story.
This visual world extended into three collages for the brand’s printed materials.

THREE COLLECTIONS,
ONE STORY
For the Madrid trade show, the challenge was to bring Supreme, Maori and Gondola together in one coherent display while preserving each collection’s character.
I chose a woman as the connecting element, with each collection revealing a different side of her personality. Kostelle’s signature sky imagery provided a second link, framed differently in each artwork: a geometric rectangle for Supreme, an organic form for Maori and a gondola silhouette for Gondola.
